These products assist site managers ensure staff are well hydrated. This is especially important during hot weather. On average a person will lose 2 to 3 % of their body weight in water per day without physical activity. Just 1% dehydration has been found to decrease worker productivity by 12%. The more dehydrated the worker becomes, the further his or her physical work capacity degrades, with 3-4% dehydration bringing about a 25-50% decline in worker performance. Not only does dehydration bring down productivity, but an increase in heat and dehydration can lead to an increase in mistakes, leading to more serious injuries. Another tip in reducing the incidence of dehydration is to provide electrolytes to your workers for their water bottles.
