First Aid Cages & CRANE PERSONNEL Work Boxes
The Plant Yard has first aid cages & work boxes are for hire as part of its lifting cage hire range.
Our crane man boxes are also known as crane boxes or man bucket for cranes or crane personnel boxes.
First Aid Crane Cages are a separate product, also available from The Plant Yard, Sydney.
Our range of crane cages
We have them in a variety of sizes, as shown in our crane lifting catalogue, ranging from a 4 man box, down to a single man box.
They are available in either closed, open or offset tops depending on your preference.
The man lifting boxes have forklift pockets and crane lifting lugs which enable both easy maneuverability via crane but also with a forklift when unloading during delivery or relocating onsite.
The doors are also inward opening only and self-closing with a latch to prevent unintentional opening during works.
Some important notes
Persons suspended from a crane shall only be accommodated in first aid cages or crane personnel work boxes designed for that purpose and the boxes and cages must come with current engineering certification, which we provide on hire.
The use of crane personnel boxes, also known as a man boxes, shall be limited to those situations where it is necessary to elevate personnel to perform special tasks of short duration and where it is not practicable to use a scaffold or another specially designed device.
first aid cages and work boxes - what is the difference
These same conditions apply in a first aid evacuation situation where an injured person might need to be safely evacuated to a treatment station.
The person operating the crane must operate it from a dedicated position and not travel in the work box or first aid cage.
The construction sites first aid cage must only be used for first aid rescue purposes only.
If a work box is needed, then a separate cage must be used for the works.
