The Plant Yard's COVID-19 Response

It has certainly been an interesting start to the decade. At The Plant Yard, we would like to let you know we are still in operation and have extended our hours in response to the updated Planning Act announced by Minister for Planning and Public Spaces earlier this week. We have always offered out of hours service, but now more so than ever.

We have also been implementing our own safety processes that mitigate exposure risk to our workers and clients from COVID-19.

This includes:

  • Physical distancing - Limiting physical interactions between workers, workers and clients, and workers and other persons at the site (e.g. deliveries) and use other methods such as mobile phone or radio to communicate.

  • Health checks and quarantine - All workers to be reporting daily to whether they are either, experiencing any symptoms or if they have been, or have potentially been, exposed to a person who has been diagnosed with COVID-19 or is suspected to have COVID-19

  • Environmental hygiene - Cleaning schedules increased. Gloves and alcohol-based hand sanitiser to be used by all workers when working with and delivering equipment to site. If you are looking to find some sanitiser for your sites, please email us at theplantyard@theplantyard.com.au.

  • Worker hygiene - Workers are always encouraged to practice good hygenie. But they are now reminded with signage as well. Covering coughs and sneezes with an elbow or a tissue, disposing of tissues properly, washing hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, including before and after eating and after going to the toilet and using alcohol-based hand sanitisers are all a top priority.

  • Consultation and communicating with workers - Workers are reminded daily of the updating governement regulations in relation to COVID-19. They are also reminded that they have a duty to take reasonable care for their own health and safety and to not adversely affect the health and safety of others.
